Know that famous scene in The Matrix in which Keanu Reeves as Neo bends backwards while bullets fly by him in slow motion? That's kind of how we feel about him passing on a role in the big screen adaptation of Akira. Talk about dodging a bullet!

We're not sure what has happened to Keanu Reeves. He's not exactly the worst actor out there, but his last few performances have been painfully lifeless and one-note. Which is why today's announcement just boggles our minds.

It's been a while since we've heard anything from Keanu Reeves' camp regarding the actor's upcoming modern take on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of the scientist Dr. Jekyll and his monstrous alter-ego, Mr. Hyde, but today came word that the project is director-less as Nicolas Refn had to bow out due to "a simple matter of clashing schedules".

Ted “Theodore” Logan is no stranger to the horror genre. He’s starred in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, The Devil’s Advocate, and Constantine (among others).
