Dread Central recently caught up with writer/producer/franchise creator Len Wiseman, who graciously took a few moments out from working on his director's cut of Total Recall to chat with us about Underworld: Awakening (review here), the latest entry in the series that began back in 2003 with a then up-and-coming Wiseman at the helm.

Hot vampire chicks, leather-clad with guns blazing. That’s the appeal of Underworld, yes? It certainly doesn’t hurt, that’s for sure. And while the ever-expanding franchise blasts its way into theaters with a fourth entry this weekend, I’d argue there’s more to these things than sexy British chicks wielding all kinds of deadly weapons.

On a frigid (well, frigid by California standards) Thursday evening, January 19th, Dread Central headed to Hollywood for the black carpet premiere of Underworld: Awakening, which was held in front of the legendary Grauman's Chinese Theater.

Thus far in the Underworld franchise every sequel has managed to top whatever has come before it. Things like that don't happen very often. So the question beckons... does Underworld: Awakening follow suit? We've got your verdict right here!
