Sam Neill Now Thinks JURASSIC PARK III is “Pretty Damn Good”

Jurassic Park and Event Horizon star Sam Neill will return as Dr. Alan Grant in director Colin Trevorrow’s Jurassic World: Dominion. And today, for some reason, he feels the need to tell us all that Jurassic Park III is underrated.

He tells Collider: “I was just talking to someone earlier in the day who said, ‘I really like Jurassic Park III and it gets an unfair [treatment].’ .. He adds: “For me, by the time I got to #3, probably a bit late in the day, I’d sort of worked out how to play that character, which I hadn’t really quite gotten around to in the first one. I was still trying to work out, how do you play that guy in the hat? And you have to think how to do that. It’s a special skill. You’re not just playing a character. You need a whole skillset. The third installment finds Dr. Alan Grant (Neill) being persuaded to conduct an aerial tour of Isla Sorna, InGen’s second site for a failed Jurassic Park experiment. There he discovers the true reason for his invitation. A tragic accident maroons the party of seven, and they must attempt to escape with their lives. William H. Macy (Fargo) costarred with Tea Leoni (Bad Boys) and Alessandro Nivola (Face/Off).

The film sports a 49% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes. The Critics Consensus reads: Jurassic Park III is darker and faster than its predecessors, but that doesn’t quite compensate for the franchise’s continuing creative decline.
