While Evil Dead struggled not to plummet like so many 3D Texas Chainsaws, Scary Movie 5 proved to be a franchise that probably wasn’t worth reviving. Funny; A Haunted House was a modest hit and Scary Movie 5 bombs.
Though the digital dinosaurs were a significant part of the appeal of the original Jurassic Park as that level of realism had never before been reached in cinema, many of the shots to feature dinosaurs were actually full-scale practical robotic creations, conceived and produced at Stan Winston Studio.
It was a big weekend for Hollywood with three films coming in at over $20 million and a 3D re-release nipping at their heels. But it was Evil Dead that swallowed the box office’s soul in a big way.

With the 3D re-release of Jurassic Park heading our way on April 5th, Universal Pictures has unveiled a pair of TV spots they're no doubt hoping will entice a new generation of moviegoers to seek it out.
