Hi, kids!  My new novel METRO just came out, and already it’s gotten some killer reviews from some major players. Don’t take my word for it; check out what THEY are all saying:

“Holy hell. Nitro-charged, blood-thumping, brain-twisting entertainment. Romano isn’t messing around.” – Joe R. Lansdale, best-selling author of COLD IN JULY and the HAP AND LEONARD series

“Metro is a bloodbath to remember. Stephen Romano writes the way an AK-47 fires, six hundred words a minute, all of them hitting their target and spreading for maximum damage. He’s got a superhero trained from birth to reduce the scenery to shreds and kill guys you love to hate. When you get to an action scene – and there are enough to satisfy any gamer – strap yourself down because Romano has found remarkable ways to destroy life. He really is a high-energy killing machine, and if Red Bull is your drink then Metro is for you – heart-pumping mayhem performed by the bad guys of course, but also by people who speak well, nice people forced to do bad things.” – William Kotzwinkle, New York Times bestselling author of  E.T. The Extraterrestrial and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET PART 4: THE DREAM MASTER

“If you’re an aficionado of pop culture, paranoia, violence, Trivial Pursuit, and terrific writing, you’ll love METRO by Stephen Romano.” – Joss Cordero, acclaimed author of WEST PALM

Hot damn, huh!?  We’re already getting some great customer feedback on this one at Amazon as well.

Over the weekend, I was invited to do what they call a “Guest List” over at FLICK ATTACK in honor of METRO, and the results were fun. Click the IMAGE BELOW to jump to my awesome article about films of obsession, deception and survival.

FLICK ATTACK

So . . . as for The Kingdom.

KINGDOM REVERSE FRONT DOOR INT.

We’ve had some fun times talking about my old house of horrors which partially inspired the bloody action in METRO.  Above, you can see the main entrance to the place, which was a nutty collage featuring thousands of images that we called THE JOHN CUSACK WALL.  The reason was that somewhere in the mess was a single image of John Cusack, and if you could find him, we gave you a free Miller Light from the fridge.   We used to tell people, “Come over to The Kingdom! John Cusack is giving away free beer!”  And people would BELIEVE US.  Horrible.

This has been a wild stroll down memory lane, and I hope it’s been good for you too, all these crazy images and stories.  But all fun things must end, obviously.  And methinks it’s time to turn this column over to some other subjects in coming weeks. Oh sure, I’ll still shamelessly plug my book, but I’ll also have some new and awesome announcements soon and some wild stories from “the trenches” of horror film.   Yeah, I’ve been around this block a few times. Yeah, I have a few things to talk about. Yeah, it’s all marginally interesting. If you like that kind of thing. So after I’ve taken a little bit of time off to promote METRO and take care of some other business, we’ll return with an all-new look and mission at Stephen Romano’s Kingdom.

And our first stop?

Phantasm 5 anyone?

Yeah, I wrote that.

I’ll be back with the exclusive, never-before-heard story in a couple of weeks.

Be VERY afraid . . .
