Joe R. Lansdale
While we're all very excited for a big screen adaptation of Joe R. Lansdale's Christmas with the Dead, it looks like it will be shambling forth with a new director steering the joyously rotting ship.

And then there are the precious few: writers who can captivate a reader with the telling of their tale and with their characters as well as being able to astound their peers – the people who know the mechanics of what he does – and earn their respect by the journeyman-like talent displayed on every page of every book.

Even though the holiday itself is officially over (hello, Monday workload), we're already looking forward to next Christmas. Especially if it means spending it with the dead!
