Horror Author/Actor Joe Knetter Update; Campaign Continues

A few weeks ago we told you about a Go Fund Me campaign for horror author/actor/personality Joe Knetter. He needed 3K to help him through the months he’d be out due to the need for spinal surgery. You guys came together and raised it in a matter of a few days.

With that help, Joe was able to take care of his children and get a walker for himself. The good news is that he will be able to walk again unassisted once he has the surgery. The bad news is he’s gonna be laid up for quite a while.

He just posted the following update to his dilemma.

I want to start by thanking all those involved with the last campaign. No matter how many times I say it, I can never thank you enough. It means so much to me that you helped my family when we needed it the most. Thank you. I now have a better understanding of the next steps.

“I met with the neurosurgeon. The good news is that he thinks he can really help me. The prior three spinal surgeries I’ve had over the years, while providing relief, eventually required more surgery and the pain never fully left. I have no delusions, I have extensive nerve damage, I will still have pain, and always will, but the thought of being able to walk and live without major pain is something I never thought was possible. I’ve always hid the pain the best I could in order to not worry and become a burden to people. The pain I’m in now is the worst it’s ever been. I rarely leave the house. Being on my feet quickly causes the pain to become debilitating. Sitting for too long will also have the same effect. My legs are weak due to the nerve issues, so I fall often. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. But it will be difficult.”

I’m going to have a three level disc removal and fusion. Screws and rods will go in to stabalize my spine. I should be in the hospital for two to three days before finishing the recovery at home. It’ll be three to six months before I can resume my normal day to day activities. With physical therapy and my current life changes, due to Diabetes, I think the prognosis is very positive that I can look and feel the best I have since I was in my early twenties.”

With all this comes the realization that I still need more help. So I’m asking you, again, and I feel even worse than last time. Any share, kind words, or donation helps keep me afloat while I complete this process. I was truly blown away by your kindness before. The words you wrote helped as much as the money. I read those messages and comments so many times.

I want to get as healthy as possible for my family, my friends and my fans. I want to be here a long, long time. I want to entertain you and create stories, movies and shows that help you escape reality when you need it.

So we ask again… with all the humility imaginable… if you can spare… anything at all… every dime helps… please CLICK HERE and do so.

Thank you for reading this, and thank you for helping even if it’s just by sharing the above link on your social media accounts.
