As the “outbreak” of Overture Films’ release of The Crazies (in theatres Friday, February 26th) draws closer, the studio is gearing up for an exciting launch of a comic book series inspired by the film along with various other multimedia content including a motion comic book series, Facebook “tower defense” game, and more. The film is produced and distributed by Overture Films and co-financed by Participant Media.

The name Jeff Katz might not jump out at you from the get-go but I can assure you guys, you're more than acquainted with his work. Over the past few years Katz has been instrumental in shepherding along installments of several high profile franchises such as Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street and most recently X-Men Origins: Wolverine for other studios. Now he's setting out to create his very own genre label.

Halloween: The Mark of Thorn Next for Devil's Due

The season is starting early this year with a new comic line written by Stef Hutchinson and Jeff Katz. The comics will be distributed through Devil's Due Publishing and Compass International Pictures.
