NBC Taps Jamie Bamber for Lead Role in 17th Precinct

And the list of upcoming TV pilots that go bump in the night just keeps growing as NBC preps “17th Precinct” from “Battlestar Galactica” executive producer Ron Moore, who has coaxed his “BG” star Jamie Bamber to accept the lead in the ensemble cop drama with a sci-fi spin.
According to TVLine Bamber will play Caolan, an extremely focused crime scene detective. He joins the recently cast Stockard Channing in the tale of a fictional town where magic and supernatural elements rule over science. Michael Rymer (Queen of the Damned, “Persons Unknown”) will direct.
“17th Precinct” joins NBC’s “Grimm” and ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” in the networks’ bid to attract genre viewers. Will you bite?
