Things have been fairly quiet since the announcement that Warner Bros. had pushed back the release date for The Box, Richard Kelly's upcoming adaptation of Richard Matheson's 1970 short story "Button, Button", but today we got a look at a new still from the film.

Much to the chagrin of many Sam Peckinpah's 1971 film Straw Dogs (based upon the book The Siege at Trencher's Farm by Gordon Williams) is getting itself a Hollywood make-over. Can director Rod Lurie capture the essence of the original masterpiece and successfully update it for our times? Well the jury is still out, but the cast is shaping up nicely.

There's no doubt Sam Peckinpah's 1971 film Straw Dogs, which was based upon the book The Siege at Trencher's Farm by Gordon Williams, is widely regarded as an absolute classic. And like all classics, we knew that sooner or later someone would get the bug up his ass to remake it. So now it's out with the Hoffman and in with the Cyclops.

Richard Kelly's latest chiller The Box finally has a release date. In a rare turn of events, the movie has been moved up from its proposed original release date in November to arrive just in time for Halloween!

The last update we had on some kind of release for Richard Kelly's The Box gave a somewhat reasonable date of March 20th, 2009 for its theatrical bow. So, of course, that appears to have changed.
