It Came From the Internet!

Never mind CGI, man! Old school claymation has always been cooler if only for the fact that there's something physically there up on the screen. Sadly, claymation seems to be a quickly dying medium, but that hasn't stopped artist Lee Hardcastle from crafting a version of the Sam Raimi classic The Evil Dead that you won't soon forget.

When it comes to your horror needs t-shirt-wise, it's hard to find anyone who holds a candle to the sickos over at Rotten Cotton. The boys in black have just unveiled a bunch of new designs to help you make "the normal" folks around you walk on the other side of the street, and we've got a couple of choice ones for you to dig on as well as directions for you to see the whole damned line!

While doing some early publicity interviews for his work on the upcoming Mother's Day, director Darren Bousman has also been dealing with a little bit of a sticky situation.

Director Drew Daywalt has churned out yet another horror yarn from his very own fear factory, and as always he manages to get more accomplished horror-wise in four minutes than most people do with ninety.

With The Wolfman looming on the horizon, we are really happy to see a renewed interest in the creatures who started it all. Before Jason, Michael, or Freddy were even a thought ... several other iconic characters have been scaring the hell out of kids and adults for decades!

Here at Dread Central we love our staff. We especially love our female staff who more than hold their own in our little sausage-fest. Actually I think we have the largest number of women working with us of any genre site. Morgan Elektra, Elaine Lamkin, Melissa Bostaph, Debi Moore, Heather Buckley, Crix Lee, Heather Wixson. That's a lot of estrogen, man! Bless their hearts for putting up with our shit!

Working on a news website requires lots of looking around for interesting stuff to clue you guys in on. Sometimes we're directed to things, and sometimes we run across them on our own. This one is a little bit of both.

Recently we were nominated by Total Film for best horror blog. While we appreciate the sentiment behind the nomination more than words, and are grateful for every single fan who voted for us, the fact is we are not a horror blog, and to call us such is nearly disrespectful to all of the real horror bloggers out there who bust their asses to get their work and their voices heard.
