Mendez, Mike (The Gravedancers) Audio
Mike Mendez first really squirmed his way into the hearts of horror fans six years ago when Lionsgate (then known simply as Lions Gate) released his horror/comedy The Convent on DVD after years of the film floating out there in undistributed purgatory.
The gap of time between The Convent release and The Gravedancers (review) is one that had some fans puzzled, but as will be made clear in my audio interview with the man, Mendez is a guy who just doesn’t give up. Different studios, numerous budget promises and finally a "fuck it, we’ll do it ourselves" attitude is what took The Gravedancers so long to make it to the big screen, but thanks to the After Dark HorrorFest, that’s just what’s happening this weekend.
