In a Spiral State

Ramzi Abed's metaphysical thriller In a Spiral State is holding its microcinema premiere at the Echo Park Film Center this Friday, October 16, from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

This week sees a couple of re-releases on Blu-Ray (Snakes on a Plane and 2003's Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake), a few unknowns (Bloodwine, Farmhouse, Flesh, TX, and Nightmare), "real life" compilations Haunted Histories and Paranormal State: Demonic Investigations, and lots more; but the star of show is without a doubt The Hills Run Red.

Halo-8 Entertainment has unveiled the DVD box art for its upcoming film In a Spiral State, the metaphysical, psychedelic, drug-addled sci-fi/horror film directed by award-winning filmmaker Ramzi Abed. The film comes to DVD on September 29th and is now available for pre-order.

A few months ago filmmaker Ramzi Abed provided us with several stills and a teaser for his upcoming metaphysical, psychedelic, drug-addled sci-fi/horror film In a Spiral State, which is being released by cutting edge studio Halo-8 Entertainment; and today we were pointed in the direction of the flick's official trailer.

Ramzi Abed showed a real affinity for experimental, highly visual films with his The Devil's Muse (review), and we at Dread Central are pleased to provide the first official look at his follow-up, In a Spiral State.

Two words that are near and dear to my heart are "metaphysical" and "psychedelic", and Ramzi Abed's new film In a Spiral State promises to be both. Along with drug-addled and mindbending. Who's making such proclamations? Who else but Halo-8 Entertainment, one of the few companies around that still manages to create and distribute daring new films.
