Sweet Dreams: Revenge Horror ‘She Will’ Acquired by IFC Midnight and Shudder

She Will

After a successful festival run, Alice Krige-vehicle She Will has been acquired by IFC Midnight and Shudder. The film, directed by Charlotte Colbert, is described as a “gothic fairy tale” and delves deep into the magical and violent world of witchcraft.

She Will follows:

Veronica Ghent who after a double mastectomy, goes to a healing retreat in rural Scotland with her young nurse Desi. There, she discovers that the process of such surgery opens up questions about her very existence. She then starts to question and confront past traumas. The two develop an unlikely bond as mysterious forces give Veronica the power to enact revenge within her dreams.

The power to enact revenge in your dreams is a tantalizing idea, especially with Krige playing Ghent. Krige, seen in previous horror projects such as Osgood Perkins’ Gretel & Hansel and the 2006 adaptation of Silent Hill, is a powerhouse in the genre. And now we get to see her as in a lead role.

Krige stars in the film alongside Kota Eberhardt (Dark Phoenix), Rupert Everett (My Best Friend’s Wedding), Amy Manson (Spencer), Jonathan Aris (The Death of Stalin), and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange).

Jessica Malik and Bob Last produced She Will. Colbert wrote the script with Kitty Percy. Ed Pressman, Dario Argento, Sam Pressman, Ed Clarke, Sam Cryer, Hannah Leader, Thorsten Schumacher and Sara Woodhatch serve as executive producers.

Yes, Argento is an executive producer. He described the film as “an excursion into the world of witchery, madness, dreams, which together create an intoxicating atmosphere.”

She Will comes to select theaters later this year. Keep an eye on Dread central for more updates on the film.
