Unfortunately, this isn’t a story about Ridley Scott adapting Little Red Riding Hood (imagine that), but rather a police procedural thriller that Scott will direct from a Steven Zaillian script for Columbia Pictures.

Come October 21st you'll be able to dig on the latest UK horror import, Jon Wright's Tormented (review here), via IFC's Festival Direct Service. Who would have thought IFC would be such a huge supporter of thrills and chills! We're loving it!

What with all the independent horror films IFC has been snapping up the rights to lately, they are quickly becoming one of the genre's best friends.

It was in October of '07 that I became one of the first to get a look at a new based-on-actual-events Bigfoot-esque flick The Wild Man of the Navidad (review) from one of the producers of the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Though it’s one of those films that sounds exceedingly difficult to describe without having seen it, which I have not, that still hasn’t stopped AJ Annila’s Sauna from getting buzz all over the festival world. Today that buzz has culminated in the Variety announcement that IFC Entertainment has acquired the rights to Sauna for the U.S.

Those of you with cable (a number I blissfully don’t count myself among) will have a lot to look forward to from IFC in the coming months. An article in Variety today reports that London-based One-Eyed Films has just sold a nine-picture package to IFC containing all the Coffin Joe movies!
