Collection Complete Dives Into High-End Custom Horror Collectibles with Ones Customs

For anyone who has attended a pop culture-driven convention in the past decade, the soaring popularity of playscale miniaturism has been more than evident. The hobby, which focuses on the collecting of one-sixth scale figures (the average 1:6 figure stands at roughly thirty centimeters, representing a human standing at six feet, natch) has positively exploded, and fueled by such companies as Hot Toys and Sideshow Collectibles, has allowed collectors to fill their detolf displays with photorealistic portrayals of everything from Thanos to Marty McFly, and most everything in between.

Shining a light on the hobby, the latest episode of the Gemr produced docu-series Collection Complete takes a detour from the show’s normal narrative (an in-depth look into the lives of artists and the collections that fuel their work) and showcases one of the stars of the 1:6 scale world, whose work is highly sought after by those who collect within it: Ones Customs Figures’ Montwain Gonzales.

From his roots as a kid messing around with Mighty Putty (having been inspired at a tender age by the work of Rick Baker in Michael Jackson’s Thriller), to his creation of Ones Customs, his boutique company which offers up one-of-a-kind reimaginings of some of horror’s most beloved icons, Gonzales provides an intimate look at his journey from horror fan to horror fan turned artist.

The series’ fifteenth episode, sure to appeal to kit-bashers and model makers alike (past episodes of Collection Complete have ventured into the personal collections of filmmakers Mike Mendez of Tales of Halloween fame and The Hills Run Red producer Robert Meyer Burnett), future installments are set to explore the rare collections of Horror’s Hallowed Grounds’ Sean Clark and Los Angeles designer, artist and model Micheline Pitt, among others.

What’s more, for the next four weeks, those who create a free account at Gemr.com’s horror club HERE will have a chance to WIN a one of a kind Ones Customs Figures reimagined interpretation of Jason Voorhees from 1988’s Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood. valued at $1,000.00.
