There’s Something Waiting For You In The Woods In The Trailer For The Noonday Witch

With The Witch opening to positive reviews and being a financial success (so far, it’s at $22 million on a budget of just $1 million), now seems like a great time for another witch based horror film to come along. And we’ve got one, in the form of The Noonday Witch (original title: Polednice), from first time director Jiri Sadek, which was released in its native Czech Republic last week. Check out its Facebook account for more info.

It’s inspired by a 1896 poem of the same name, in which a mother summons a witch to take away her misbehaving child, with disastrous consequences for everyone. The film’s been moved to a contemporary setting, but as you can see from the trailer, the creepiness of the poem is clearly intact.
