DVD Releases: 4/6/2010: The Collector Tries Taxidermia on Tony in the Blood Forest
It's a bloody week of DVD offerings with Blood Ties: The Complete Series, Blood Red Moon, and Blood Forest all hitting store shelves on Tuesday, April 6th. Throw in The Damned, the film adaptation of Stephen King's Dolan's Cadillac, along with some Malpractice and Taxidermia, and we've got one hell of an eclectic mix to choose from.

The Old West Gets Scary: High Plains Invaders
Thus far we've seen cowboys duke it out in the old West. We've even seen zombies and monsters take part in many a showdown, too. Now it's time for the aliens to attack at high noon!

Starship Troopers goes west...
High Plains Invaders is an above average Syfy original, a pleasantly diverting Wild West creature feature worthy of a Saturday matinee viewing.
Syfy's Summer of Schlock
The Sci-Fi Channel's name change to Syfy makes me think of a scene from the classic miniseries "Roots". The evil white man wanted to change Kunta Kinte's name to Toby. They whipped him until he said it. Afterwards, a fellow African told him they can call him whatever they want; he knows his true name is Kunta Kinte. Bonnie Hammer can use that bullwhip on me all she wants; I know that Syfy will always be Sci-Fi, and not just because the words are pronounced exactly the same.

James Marsters Battles High Plains Invaders
Having just portrayed an alien invader is the deplorable Dragonball: Evolution, perhaps James Marsters starring in a Syfy movie about alien bugs attacking a Wild West town might actually be a step up. Dust off your cowboy hats, folks, 'cause here come the High Plains Invaders.
