Heathers

We've heard it might be turned into a musical and we've heard more times than we can count that a sequel is coming ... all with no real results ... but finally it looks like fans of Heathers are being thrown a bone with some actual meat on it. Sony Pictures TV and Lakeshore Entertainment have the project in the script stage at Fox with Mark Rizzo tapped for writing duty to convert the film into a contemporary TV series.

Last March there was a bit of buzz about an upcoming musical theatre version of the popular Winona Ryder/Christian Slater film Heathers, but what the fans really want is a sequel -- and apparently the stars do, too.

It's hard to think of a film that's done dark, satirical teen comedy better than Heathers, and now it looks like it's taking its little black tale to the stage ... as a musical no less. According to THR, the production is being developed by Andy Fickman, director of Race to Witch Mountain, who is making a return to his musical roots.
