The busiest month of the year for horror fans started with multiple events to choose from, including the Big Bear Horro-Fi Film Festival in beautiful Big Bear Lake, California. The mountain location, with its vast forested areas, is perfect for telling campfire tales or watching horror movies. The festival itself took place in the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center with nighttime activities held on a ship, at a local nightclub, and in a restaurant, all great locations to have fun and be spooked.
We're just a few days away from September 30th start of the Big Bear Horro-Fi Film Festival, and a few announcements have come out over the past few days with regard to additions to the lineup along with news of a world premiere taking place at the event.
Actress Heather Langenkamp is known to fans worldwide as the tough-as-nails
Nancy Thompson who boldly took on maniacal dream demon Freddy Krueger in Wes Craven’s classic A Nightmare on Elm Street for the first time some 27 years ago.
Undoubtedly, Nancy Thompson has been one of the horror genre’s most beloved heroines ever since she made her big screen debut back in the original A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984.
Oh Nancy, dear sweet Nancy. She of the noble grey streak and thorn in the side of Freddy Krueger.
Thanks to the Big Bear Horro-Fi Film Festival, you can meet Heather Langenkamp- and thank her for keeping Freddy in his place. She will be signing the DVD Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy at the Barnes and Noble at the Grove in Los Angeles, CA.
We've been talking about the lovely Heather Langenkamp's new film I Am Nancy for a long time now, but word has just broken that some lucky fans in attendance at the Days of the Dead 2011 convention in Indianapolis will soon be seeing it for themselves!
One of the things we were most grateful for while working on
Never Sleep Again was the opportunity to meet and work with just about everyone who's ever graced an entry of the now famed franchise. Especially Heather Langenkamp, who served as narrator and executive producer.
You know what makes us happy? Reporting on a new film starring the still very much incredible Barbara Steele. It gets us especially happy when we report that joining Steele for the first time ever in a flick will be I Spit on Your Graves' Camille Keaton, P.J. Soles, Adrienne King, Heather Langenkamp, and Erica Leerhsen. We're talking four generations of scream queens here, folks! Does it get any better?
It's payday for many of us, but if you want to talk about payoffs, there haven't been much better Fridays in terms of material for Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy than today, December 11th! Read on to see who's in the hot seat now.
Being that Thanksgiving is this week, we figured we'd hit the road and do a little location shooting. It's good to get out of the office or, in our case, the studio. But where to, you ask? Rest assured no matter where we end up, it'll be fun!
Another week of shooting on Never Sleep Again is winding down, and Dread Central is continuing our coverage of the documentary's Twitter feed. Come on in to find out who was on the hot seat this fun-filled Friday!
Yet another day of shooting, another reunion, another killer showing up to slay, and another batch of behind-the-scenes stills from the making of what will be the definitive A Nightmare on Elm Street documentary ... Never Sleep Again!
How fitting. Here we are, Jason's birthday, and who comes in to do his Never Sleep Again interview? None other than Freddy Krueger himself, the great Robert Englund!
With production on Never Sleep Again under way, this writer had a chance to check in with the documentary's directing team of Daniel Farrands and Andrew Kasch to see how things are progressing with their project that explores the Elm Street legacy.
