Hater

Moody, David J. (Autumn Series, Hater, Dog Blood)

Back in 2005 a little-known British horror writer published a series of books under his own publishing banner, Infected Books. These books, collectively called the Autumn Series, had already created quite a sensation when the author, David J. Moody, made them available for download and nearly half a million people did so. Now some big publishing houses have taken note, and on October 26th St. Martin’s will be publishing the first book in the series, Autumn (in the UK Gollancz will be bringing the book out October 28th).

Bayona Talks Hater!

All right, so there’s not a helluva lot of insight in this Q&A with The Orphanage director J.A. Bayona, but it is the first time he’s spoken about Hater, the upcoming adaptation he’s doing of David Moody’s book, so it’s worth a mention.

Good news today for those of you waiting for more information on the Guillermo del Toro-produced adaptation of David Moody’s novel Hater; Universal has brought on The Orphanage helmer Juan Antonio Bayona to direct the film, according to Variety.

Del Toro Booked for Next Nine Years

An article in this morning’s Variety lays out all the projects Guillermo del Toro is attached to between now and 2017(!). Aside from the five years he’s set aside for The Hobbit, Universal has some huge plans for his post-Tolkien work. Doesn’t look like he’ll be making any small, Pan’s Labyrinth-sized films anytime soon.

Del Toro & Uni Move on Hater

This morning it’s been officially confirmed via Variety that Universal has picked up David Moody’s 2006 novel Hater for film adaptation. Originally this was one of the many projects Guillermo del Toro was attached to direct before that little movie about hobbits took over his life.
