Godkiller: Walk Among Us
Halo-8 Entertainment announced today that its sci-fi/horror adventure Godkiller and Giallo-style horror The Long Knives are the first Halo-8 comics to be released digitally as part of the recently announced partnership between the studio and innovative digital comics provider Graphic.ly. Read on for the details! From the Press Release:
This week's DVD and Blu-ray releases hit shelves on 4/20, and you know what that means -- a new re-release of Reefer Madness in honor of its upcoming 75th anniversary! Along with that hilarious propaganda flick we have a plentiful assortment of more serious films that are sure to appeal to DC readers.
And we go from the bounty of last week's home video releases to the near famine of March 30th, where the pick of the week is without question I Sell the Dead. Although, based on its cover alone, the DVD I'm most curious about is 1951's The Tiger's Claw (Der Tiger Akbar) from West Germany.
A handful of this week's releases came out a day early -- on the 23rd instead of the 24th -- but even so, there aren't a lot of familiar names to choose from. The picks of the week are two Blu-rays: My Bloody Valentine (Special Edition) and The Monster Squad (20th Anniversary Edition). If you don't have the tech yet for those, then read on for what you might want to put on your shopping list.
It isn't typical for an announcement of a DVD's release date being pushed back to be considered "good news", but in the case of Matt Pizzolo's episodic illustrated film Godkiller, the filmmaker couldn't be more ecstatic. So, what gives?
As announced previously, Halo-8 Entertainment will be releasing its Godkiller: Walk Among Us "illustrated film" series in the form of bi-monthly, episodic DVDs. Additionally, we've learned that each of the three DVDs will come packaged with a serialized audiobook of the prequel novel Godkiller: Silent War, written by the film's award-winning writer/director Matt Pizzolo.
