A short while ago we got the first details on a new thriller coming out of Australia courtesy of Nakatomi Pictures, Sororal, and now a second teaser trailer for the film has arrived.

The giallo film has been away for way too long. And because of that fact this news makes me happy. So if you're one of those lucky sods who'll be at London's Film4 FrightFest this weekend, you'll have an opportunity to dig on this promising throwback thriller.

Giallo films are usually on the artsy side of the fence, and this latest one from directors François Gaillard and Christophe Robin entitled, beautifully enough, Last Caress has all that and a bucket of gore going for it.

Halo-8 Entertainment announced today that its sci-fi/horror adventure Godkiller and Giallo-style horror The Long Knives are the first Halo-8 comics to be released digitally as part of the recently announced partnership between the studio and innovative digital comics provider Graphic.ly. While we've heard nothing but horrible, horrible things about Dario Argento's Giallo, we're always of the mindset that you should see it, if only to make up your mind for yourself. A lawsuit recently blocked the film from being released here, but thankfully the dust has settled.

On the eve of its domestic DVD release here in the States, word of the legal troubles casting a shadow over Dario Argento's Giallo hit the Net, and the picture was really ugly. Apparently star Adrien Brody got major league screwed on the flick and decided to sue the producers who had lied to him. Today things got even uglier for the film.

The number of home video releases on October 19th is not as abundant as in recent weeks, and fewer re-released titles means those that are available are much more special. In this batch one Adrien Brody flick competes with another, and at least two independent horror titles are making a splash. Two beloved classic films return in Blu-ray where one is supplemented by a documentary treatment of it.

Just when we finally thought we'd be seeing it officially for ourselves on DVD, it seems like Dario Argento's Giallo has a lot more trouble to contend with than just the bad reviews. As per The Hollywood Reporter:

Finally after kicking around for over two years, there is some news to report on the release of Dario Argento's Giallo starring Adrien Brody and Elsa Pataky. See, kids? Miracles do happen!

During their recent panel at WonderCon entitled "Halo-8: Comic Books and Illustrated Films," Halo-8 reps announced their next original comic book/illustrated film transmedia combo will be Matt Pizzolo's The Long Knives, "a giallo horror, bare-knuckled revenge movie with an otherworldly Tim Burton-esque aesthetic." The artwork will be courtesy of newcomer illustrator Ana Ludeshka.

It’s hard to imagine a world where Body Double is a Ken Widerhorn (Return of the Living Dead part II) film. Originally, Brian De Palma had intended to write and produce, but opted to get behind the camera when another of his projects fell through.
