Some of you have asked the question, "So where is The Asylum's mockbuster of Paranormal Activity?" To be fair, who expected a $15,000 home movie to become a $100 million dollar blockbuster? Never fear; when a blockbuster makes money, The Asylum smells money, and a mockbuster soon follows. They'll see your Paranormal Activity and raise you a Paranormal Entity.

Ghosts
Ready to Feel the Paranormal Effect?
Simius Films unveiled details and a teaser trailer for its first production, a little movie called Paranormal Effect, which sheds a bit of light on one of Japan's most infamous curses. Of course it's a found footage flick pieced together by the "project's producers". Yep.

Paranormal Activity at Home by the End of the Year?
Now that it's shattered a few records, officially became the Saw killer, and scared the shit out of most of its viewers, the only thing left for Paranormal Activity to do is come home in a really good DVD and Blu-ray package.

Cold Spots: Leavenworth Prison
Leavenworth, Kansas - Its guest list reads like a who's-who of infamy, full of swindlers, gangsters, murderers and monsters. The gargantuan structure is at once a beautiful piece of architecture and an imposing sentinel on the land. In fact, from the outside, it looks almost like one of the many halls of government in Washington, D.C. But the people who stay here aren't guests of their own free will. They don't make laws. In fact, they broke a few. And inside, where penance is paid and cells are overcrowded, there are a few inmates who have stayed longer than most.

AFM: Early One-Sheet for Shimizu's The Shock Labyrinth
Takashi Shimizu knows his stuff when it comes to making movies about really creepy ghosts that are pretty pissed off. In his latest film, The Shock Labyrinth, which was shot in 3D, he's taking his trademark pale spookers off of the screen and placing them right in your lap!

Hideo Nakata Hears the Voice from the Stone
When Japanese director Hideo Nakata dropped The Ring on us several years ago, he basically introduced horror audiences to what would become to be known as J-Horror. Hundreds of films concerning little girls dressed in white with long black hair later, the man himself is ready to spin another ghostly tale.

AFM: Twilight Dad Engages in Some Shadow Play
For my money Billy Burke as Bella's dad was the best thing in all of Twilight. Burke, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"'s Emma Caulfield, busty model/actress Kelly Brook (soon to be eaten alive in Piranha 3D), and film veteran Elliot Gould co-star in Shadow Play, a new thriller in the vein of Hitchcock and The Shining about a cleaning man whose sanity begins to unravel as he works to clean up a sprawling mansion.

Twilight Saga's Ashley Greene May Be Seeing an Apparition
Now that she's gained the kind of notoriety most actors only dream of by portraying Alice Cullen, adopted "sister" of Edward, in The Twilight Saga, Ashley Greene is undoubtedly fielding offers left and right. It's good to see her sticking with our genre as she appears to be in final talks to star in a new film entitled Apparition.

Remember when it was just sharks or piranha we had to worry about when getting into the water (sorry, that isolated crocodile hunter stingray attack doesn't count)? Now there's a whole new breed of watery terrors waiting for us in the new UK chiller from Nick Cohen The Reeds -- ghosts!

Cold Spots: The Legend of The Leatherman
Watertown, Connecticut - Every 34 days he appears, a shambling form that moves from the Connecticut River to the Hudson with grunts instead of words his only form of communication. To those unaccustomed, he can be a frightening sight, some sort of wild man descending from the mountainous terrain. But even to those he's visited before, his presence is somewhat disquieting. It isn't his appearance or his animal growls. Rather, it's the fact that he died more than one hundred twenty years ago.
