Ghost GraduationIn a perfect world if there were such a thing as a ghost school, then Beetlejuice would be a teacher of Yoda-like proportions. Sadly, this world sucks and the ghost with the most has been missing since his initial outing. Good thing we have a new horror comedy on the way to cheer us up.

Variety is reporting that Mod Producciones, the producer of Alejandro Amenabar’s Agora and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s Biutiful, is teaming with Spain’s Ikiru Films, Ciskul and Think Studio to produce Javier Ruiz Caldera’s latest spoof, Ghost Graduation.

Described as “a high-school phantom comedy,” the flick focuses on Modesto, a mediocre teacher with a paranormal gift, who is given the responsibility of helping five singular students — all ghosts — pass their high-school exams and finally leave school.

Ghost Graduation will be Ruiz Caldera’s sophomore feature. His debut, the spoof Spanish Movie, grossed a strong Euros 6.6 million ($9.6 million) in Spain from a late 2009 bow.

Raul Arevalo, Alexandra Jimenez and Ana Fernandez are all set to star.
Filming commences around June, and the flick is scheduled to come out by the years end. More soon.
