Case in point: Dark Horse's twin announcements today of (a) the deluxe, oversized, dust-jacketed hardcover collection of Buffy Season 8 and (b) the first collection of the season with Buffy Season 9 Volume 1: Freefall.

Good news for Joss Whedon fans - On August 31st Dark Horse will begin a new ongoing monthly comic series starring the two biggest wildcards in the Buffy universe: Angel and Faith!

With the Buffy the Vampire Slayer remake talk heating up, hard-core fans still have the Season 8 comics to keep them company with the final issue coming out in just a few weeks. In addition, Buffy herself is turning 30, and to celebrate both the end of Season 8 and the birthday of the beloved character, Dark Horse has announced six Buffy Birthday Parties across the country!
