Sometimes I just have to ask myself "Why?" and then repeatedly bang my face against my computer desk. First off, relax, there is NOT a new remake coming, but apparently producer Richard Rubinstein has plans to give the original Romero classic Dawn of the Dead a three-dimensional face lift.
New casting news has just come in concerning Breck Eisner's remake of the George A. Romero classic The Crazies, which is slated to begin principal photography March 5 in Georgia.

George Romero was at a film festival recently and showed a very cool behind-the-scenes clip from his latest zombie outing, still called …of the Dead. It features cast and crew talking about how cool it is working with George, including one zombie whom I’m sure you’ll all find very familiar.
Overture Films has joined up with Bloody-Disgusting to give one lucky horror fan a chance to be a part of the upcoming remake of George A. Romero’s The Crazies, which is scheduled to begin shooting in Georgia in the coming months. The winner will be chosen by random drawing and will be afforded a trip to the set on April 3rd as well as an opportunity to be an extra in the film!

While speaking with George Romero today about the "Tales from the Darkside" DVD release, I got a quick update on what's been happening with the still not officially titled ...of the Dead.
A whole slew of trailers have appeared on the official site for Voltage Pictures, the guys behind a lot of cool upcoming horror titles like Eduardo Sanchez’s Seventh Moon. Instead of boring you with multiple stories about one thing, how about one story about multiple things?

Over the weekend, we did a story linking back to an article in USA Today about Romero’s new Dead film, which is wrapping up shooting in Toronto in the next few days. A line from said article stated that characters from both Land and Diary of the Dead would be returning in the new movie, which seems to have got some fans in a tizzy already.
