George A. Romero
Slow Saturday? How about spending a little time with the Dead? That's right, kids! We've got three new clips for you from the latest Romero zombie epic, Survival of the Dead. Be warned, though ... these are a couple of really great moments so watch at your own risk of spoiling it for yourself!
Panned by critics and moviegoers alike upon its direct-to-video release back in 2000, Bruiser never really found its audience and, ten years later, seems to have been entirely forgotten. And while I realize that I’m in the minority here, I’ve always considered this one to be a bit of an overlooked little gem. George A.
Finally the red band theatrical trailer has come for George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead, but honestly? We think it could use a bit more time in the oven as it's pretty tame. Come on, guys! We need red in our red bands!
In just a few days, March 15th to be exact, the next entry into George A. Romero's legendary Dead franchise will be hitting Blu-ray and DVD in the UK from Optimum Home Entertainment. You know, the place across the pond with the stacked home video releases as opposed to the lovely bare bones crap we get here in the States (still angry about Paranormal Activity).
There's nobody on the planet more excited for the release of George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead than I am. Having been on-set, in make-up, and feasting on the entrails of the living as one of this latest batch of flesheaters, I'm as hungry to get my hands on the final product as anyone! Still, the official one-sheet will do for now.
For those of you who don't know, there is a monster-sized Blu-ray of George A. Romero's Day of the Dead (story here) on its way to lucky fans in the UK that will feature an exclusive comic tie-in from badass comic maven Stef Hutchinson. Because we love you guys so damned much, we've got some preview pages for you to dig on.
One thing I hate about Blu-ray is the damn region locking that plagued DVD. Before importing a disc, I've got to do plenty of research to ensure it'll work in my player, which sometimes leads to depressing news. While we have a pretty sweet version of Day of the Dead in high definition already thanks to Anchor Bay, today's announcement of a UK edition sounds even sweeter!
Finally we have a rock solid date for the debut of George A. Romero's next entry into his epic zombie saga, Survival of the Dead! Springtime just got a whole lot sweeter!
The UK cover art for the next chapter in George A. Romero's epic franchise, Survival of the Dead, has made its online debut and all it does is make us long for Magnet's eventual release here! This cannot come soon enough, damn it!
Zombie fans got an early Christmas present today with the announcement that the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, the Wagner/Cuban Companies' Magnet Releasing, has acquired US rights to George A. Romero's Survival of the Dead, the latest in the legendary director's beloved series of Dead zombie films.
On the heels of the announcement earlier this week that a 3D Night of the Living Dead remake is in the works (read that story here) comes news that the original NOTLD has been restored, colorized, and converted, frame by frame, into full 3D and will premiere at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 3, 2009, as a part of the 5th Annual Johnny Ramone Tribute.
