Now this is what we call exciting news! Kevin Williamson has landed a put pilot commitment from Fox TV for a new series the revolves around a serial killer. Those of you who haven't watched his show "The Vampire Diaries" recently might be skeptical, but those of us who have know full well the depths to which Williamson's mind can travel.

It's been a while since we mentioned Fox TV's upcoming "Terra Nova" from the Stephen Spielberg camp as its horror connection is admittedly light, but considering it's Spielberg plus dinosaurs with the great Stephen Lang thrown in for good measure, we figured our readers would be interested in the latest bit of news to hit the Net regarding the show.

After losing its flagship series "24" and not seeing its newer offerings (aside from "Glee") garner especially strong ratings, Fox TV is looking around for something that will attract more viewers. What have they found?

Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse" series got a bit jerked around during its run on Fox TV, but its Season Two DVD/Blu-ray release is getting the royal treatment with fans who order from FoxConnect.com and use a special code getting free shipping, a 10% discount, and a copy of the limited edition San Diego Comic-Con lithograph.

In what should come as no surprise to anyone who's been following the show's rocky road since Day One, Fox TV has canceled Joss Whedon's "Dollhouse". But at least they're letting it run its course and will air all 13 of this season's episodes, enabling Whedon to give it a proper send-off.

We've heard it might be turned into a musical and we've heard more times than we can count that a sequel is coming ... all with no real results ... but finally it looks like fans of Heathers are being thrown a bone with some actual meat on it. Sony Pictures TV and Lakeshore Entertainment have the project in the script stage at Fox with Mark Rizzo tapped for writing duty to convert the film into a contemporary TV series.

If you're a fan of Fox TV's "Dollhouse" series, we have some good news and some bad news. Let's start with the good: The premiere episode of Season 2 is being written and directed by Joss Whedon himself. The bad? You're going to have to wait one more week to get your dose of Dushku as Fox has pushed back the series' return to September 25th.

One thing I'll never completely understand is TV programming and why some shows make it when others that are just as worthy, if not more so, don't. Case in point: Fox TV's "Dollhouse" and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles."

Those who have been watching "Dollhouse" on Fox claim it has finally hit its stride after a somewhat rocky start, and the show's upward trending ratings seem to bear that out. So one has to wonder why, then, Fox has decided to cut its season short by declining to air Episode #13, "Epitaph One".

Never let it be said we don't look out for you guys. Though it's been delayed and relegated to the Friday night wasteland, finally on February 13th we'll have a chance to see if Joss Whedon still has what it takes to make a successful show when "Dollhouse" makes its long-awaited debut on Fox TV.

In an interesting move both for network television and viewers in general, Fox announced today that they will be trying a new experiment with two of next season’s more promising shows; the JJ Abrams-creatred “Fringe” and Joss Whedon’s “Dollhouse”. Namely, less commercials!

Granted, it's not solely a horror show, but the Fox Network's "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" has plenty of fans on this site (including yours truly).
