Hi!

I'm a long time reader of the site. I started reading Creature Corner way back in the day, then followed these guys to Dread Central which then became The Horror Channel before becoming Dread Central again(if I'm remembering that right). I'm not on many message boards but since I've been following this site for so long I figured I would get involved a bit.

I'm 31 and like most of you I'm a 'Far Out Fan!' I like a variety but I'm really fond of Horror Anthology Series.

Since I grew up in the 80's I also have a strong love for most 80's horror. I remember going to the video stores with my Mom and seeing all the posters on the wall, and the horror section was in the back in a seperate room, so I always ran back there when we would arrive. Seeing the box for Slaughter House or the poster for Chopping Mall would always stay in my head and get my brain going tying to 'fill in the blanks' since I didn't always get to rent what I wanted.

I am looking forward to discussing horror and being part of this online community. I will not challenge anyones horror credibilty if we disagree and I understand that as we get older times change and taste change so I think it's okay for those of us who grew up on certain things to continue to enjoy them.

I also remember, at the beginning of the week there used to be a blog on the site. I remember around Feb. of 2005(I think) the blog was about Valentines and it was aimed at those of us who Valentines sucked for. I was just coming out of a break up and I was a litlle down and out, and I read that blog and it really helped me out. Sorry I'm fuzzy on the details but I do remember that(even if I don't remember who wrote it.)

Anyways, hello!

Yeah, we had the horror in it's own little room too. It was shaped like a dungeon and had black lights that made the experience complete. I believe it's been turned into the porno section since then, however.
Anyway, hi, welcome, glad to see you, blah blurg blah. Very Happy

Hi from another new guy. I had the same experience at the video store when I was a kid. My dad would take me, and I would check out the horror section while he was looking at other movies. I still remember the pictures on the vhs tapes for movies like Amityville, Trilogy of Terror, Creepshow, Carrie, and Jaws to name a few. I'm 31, too.

Yeah, video stores were the bomb back in the day.
