Post your collection here as well. I'd like to see what I'm missing and I would like to know what is worth getting.

I don't listen to any specific style of music, but I'm not a big fan of jazz, country, or pop. I do like rock more then rap, and rap more then the rest, but I still listen to just about everything. With this list, I'll put *s next to recomendations, ?s next to cds I haven't checked yet, and -s next to cds that I don't much care for. Figure that might be about the best way to see what might be decent recomendations for me.

Complete Collections:

Mindless Self Indulgence: All they've put out is well worth giving a try if you don't mind vulgarity, goofiness, and techno/industrial sound.

Rammstien: I can't understand what they're saying, but the sound the produce is compelling and hard not to like.

Avenue Q Soundtrack: An adult styled take on sesame street. This play spawned the infamous "Internet Is For Porn" track.

Southpark: All songs from the series, movie and intros.

Wicked: ????

Afroman: A pothead who gives out solid, and not so solid performances. I haven't heard it all, but the good times cds have some good tracks.
Warning: Not for you if you don't smoke/drink/mind vulgarity. These cds are chill stoned/drunk cds.

D12: Vulgar entertainment with some strong suggestions withing with tracks like "Ain't nothing but music" and "How come" As well as goofy tracks like "Purple Pills" and "my band". With some trully creepy sounds in tracks like "Devils Night".

DMX: One of the best to come out of the early nineties.

Eminem: Don't even know how to explain him. You already know him.

Kottonmouth Kings: Got as a recomendation. Has some good stuff, but I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it all.

Kutt Calhoun: Got him from Tech N9ne. Not bad at all.

Madd Maxx: Horrorcore that is on par with "Professionals".

Outkast: I love thier old stuff, the new stuff is mostly garbage in my opinion.

Skattermant and Snugg Brimm: Not great, not bad. Mediocre is all it musters.

Tech N9ne: My all-time favorite rap artist.

Drowning Pool: Having one song("Bodies") define your career is not a good thing. Though there are a few good tracks within to make it worth the listen.

Evanescence: I want more, is all I will say.

Killswitch Engage: A sweet suprise. Found them through the "Holy Diver" cover, and have enjoyed almost everything they've done.

Metallica: Have all of it, from the garage days to Death Magnetic. I've slowly heard the decline.

Rob Zombie: Not something I'm too proud of since Halloween, but the music is decent.

Sublime: A must hear at least once.

Three Days Grace: An average band with a few stand out tracks.

Hatebreed: Found To the Threshold, and have been hooked ever since.

Papa Roach: A few good songs stand out. The rest just lurk there mocking what they could have been.

Slipknot: A band that has gotten better with age in my opinion. I also have the "Unreleased" Crows album.

Stone Sour: Just plain good stuff.

System of a down: Another band that has a few good cds, and a few bad ones.

Gorillaz: You probably know by now if you like these guys.

Limp Bizkit: The first four cds are listenable, the rest are throwaways.

Linkin Park: Splitting the DNA is the best cd they've ever put out.

Rage against the machine: Good stuff

Rehab: Don't bother with "Bartender". go for sittin at a bar.

I'll list more as I get them. I'm slowly building, but I want recomendations.

What do you think is good listening, and what should I check out?

It would take me hours to post my collection but check out David Gilmour Live in Gdansk. I did get the box set and it's amazing.

Porcupine Tree is pretty incredible too.

I'm really a fan of progressive rock more than anything else. Peter Gabriel era Genesis is some awesome stuff.

I was too lazy to post them all, so I posted the main bulk.

I'm looking them up as I type this, as for genesis, I will look them up as well.

I don't know the specific types of rock, but I will say is I enjoy nu-metal a lot, and that's about the only sub-genre I know. I pretty much just listen to whatever sounds good.

Any other recommendations(even if it has nothing to do with what I already have) please let me know.

I also recently picked up:
Army of the pharaohs
Jedi Mind Tricks
Ill Bill
Non Phixon
South Park Mexican
Aesop Rock(good, relevant hip hop/rap, even if you don't like rap check this guy out)
Prozak
King Geedorah
MF Doom
Cunnin Lynguists
Talib Kweli
Cage
Cannibal Ox
Outerspace
Nekromantix(haven't listened yet)
and the nightmare revisited cd

In terms of rap I'd recommend Immortal Technique (if you're into some political rap), Lil Wayne (especially his mixtapes), dunno what else.

For rock, if language isn't a problem, then I'd go for Sigh, Lordi, Lacuna Coil, Guitar Wolf, bleach03, Rammstein (especially since they've gotten better since their Du Hast days), Karma Noir (gothic band from Tel-Aviv, Israel), um... mind's blank, when I think of more. I'll post 'em.

I already have: Immortal technique, Rammstien, Lordi(in the process on these guys), I'll look up the rest, send me a pm with the list of others.

As for lil wayne, he's not my thing at all. I prefer stuff more similar to aesop rock, non phixon, cannibal ox, danger doom, king geedorah, etc...

There's just something about lil wayne that bugs me. It just feels like there's a great surface, but nothing deeper. He does have some sick beats though.

My collection consists of lots of stuff spanning across many genres...I have over 2000 cds and I'm not even going to try to list them all.

Most of it is Metal. But there is a bit of everything from Gladys Knight to D12 to MGNT to David Bowie.
