A fantastic novel! One of my personal favorites . . . .
I heard Scott Smith finally has a new one out. Called THE RUINS or something like that. Supposedly it's a straight-up horror tale. I will definitely be picking that one up.

I'm no good at finding good horror books. Recently, I've picked up Ross Campbell's The Abandoned and David Wellington's Monster Island: A Zombie Novel. Wasn't very impressed with either one, but curiously I rather enjoyed King's Cell. I need help. _________________ *jae*

"A Scanner Darkly" by Philip K. Dick. What a fucked-up novel! It took me a while to get into it and I'm still not sure what's going on.
Next on the 'to-read' list is "Sex, Drugs, & Cocoa Puffs: A Low-Culture Manifesto" by Chuck Klosterman, followed by everything else he's ever written. _________________ "I hate all sports as rabidly as a person who likes sports hates common sense." - H. L. Mencken

That's a great book. "Choke" was one of his best novels. _________________ "I hate all sports as rabidly as a person who likes sports hates common sense." - H. L. Mencken

What are you reading right now? I'm reading the Horror Library collection (It's like 32 short stories), and so far, I'm digging it. How bout you? |
Wow...two people in the same thread reading MY collection...and I swear, I haven't paid anyone off! Thanks to you both, Scott and Anders...(check out nightmaregloves.com This guy does KILLER work!)
Presently, I just finished reading a couple of Brian Keene novels (great stuff!) and I just started reading "Jesus Freaks" by Andrea Duza...

Just started Brian Lumley's Bloodwars. So far it's been much better than most of his previous Necroscope novels. I've enjoyed all of them, just some more than others... _________________ Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. |

For me, it's one of the perks of being the literary editor...I get advance reader copies of books for review purposes.
However, you can pick it up at Shocklines by following the link below:
