If everyone send me $20 each, I promise I will start a horror channel.

You can trust me. I'm from the internet.

The time for a horror channel may come sooner than you think if the cable providers are forced to serve channels ala carte. I have so many channels that I never even think of watching. When and if we are able to pick the individual channels that make up our own personal cable line up, a channel dedicated to horror could be a pretty good seller.

I'm pretty much burned-out when it comes to wanting a Horror Channel. I think it would take $40 to $70 million to start a cable channel, and then you have to get pass all the stumbling blocks to get one on the air. I don't think fans would pay anyway, considering they have their own DVDs, Netflex, and rental stores to see horror movies.

Hey, man - let's not say things we can't take back! You leave Arby's alone!

Incidentally, does anyone have anything to say about Showtime Beyond? Pro? Con?

My estimates say it will take roughly a gazillion dollars to start a channel. Plus another bazillion each year for the first five years to maintain it.
Maybe we could open a lemonade stand. Or prostitute DudeAbides.

I probably wouldn't contribute anything. After the last horror channel fiasco, I have realized I really have no need for a channel to play the same films I already own.

If there was original programming...original good programming that wasn't the same shit I see on Sci-Fi already, maybe some cheesy-ass horror films in the same vein as some of those Sci-Fi channel originals, then maybe I would...but even then, it would already have to be on the air before I would contribute, so it doesn't even matter.

I find it equal parts amusing & frustrating that Canada has both The Scream Channel & The Fight Network as part of their cable systems years ahead of anything similar here in the States.
Sure, we have Monsters HD here, which I'd LOVE to have, but it's only available through The Dish Network. Confused

That would have been my response.

Well said. I dont give a shit about a horror channel anymore. Would I be happy if I had one? Sure. Am I desperate for one? Fuck no.

I have movies, books, and my own sick mind to keep me close to the horror genre.

Besides, a horror channel would suck. If it's owned by one studio, it will be playing one studio's films only, if it's owned by viacom, it will start off as a channel with a limited library and mediocre programming and then start airing shitty offtopic shows like ECW.

Come on, a horror channel is not completely necessary.

I dont need a fucking channel to remind me I'm a fan. And if I want a horror movie, I'll buy it.

I'm beginning to feel the same way. After all, horror is so universally beloved that every channel plays it in one form or another. And there's always the possibility that if there actually were a "horror" channel, the others might figure they don't need to play it so much. Fuck that!
