I think both were and the note was his attempt to scare the husband away so as not to take his sister away from him. At least, it seemed like that was where they were trying to go with that scene with the brother in their house.

Subtle body display too... Guess they didn't have much company over!

Well that was fucking stupid. Who in the world would find that remotely scary? Or even entertaining for that matter.

I am cautiously hopeful for "Eater"

Man, how many of these things are going to involve serial killers?

Just enough, until next season, we get thirteen episodes chock-full of tiny, long haired ghosts living in hostels.

The next episode is supposed to be about zombies, but the writing for this show has been so weak I'm not even excited about it.

"The Eater" was okay. But what's the point if it's going to just be okay? I mean, I can get those teeth at the mall.

I've seen episodes of "The Love Boat" that were less predictable, and the ending was just laugh out loud stupid, but the acting wasn't the worst, I guess. Although that Captain Stubing's crew did tend to keep me guessing a little more and gave much better hickies.

At least we learned something: our souls wear clothes.

This was the first place I came to when I heard Fear Itself was starting (I thought it had already started like in the spring), I like reading reviews before I watch anything so I can be horribly biased and prepared.

I started watching the episodes on NBC's website and ugh. The Sacrifice was okay but the episodes after it have just been...meh. The "twists" and the stories have been killing me. I'm just hoping the new episodes coming up will be better because I really want this to be good...

I haven't seen every episode of Fear, Itself but I can, without a doubt, proclaim "New Year's Day" to be one of the worst things I've ever seen in my life. That episode was never scary once. What really did the episode in was some of the worst editing and directing in history. I don't know who decided that fast motion editing thing was scary but they need to be murdered. This episode started to give me little hope for the direcion in Repo! because clearly Darren Bousman has no idea what he's doing.

Bousman's episode should have been a simple and effective zombie story, but the horrible editing killed any suspense.

I liked the twist, though. I guess credit for that should go to Steve Niles?

The concept behind the twist in the abstract was good, but there were too many things that either gave it away or made it a cheap trick in the end. You can't just change the rules or add extra stuff we didn't get to see at the end to justify a twist.

Nice try, though.

I can't agree more.
Last night I watched Fear Itself for the first time.
Lordy it was God Fucking Awful.
New Year's Day was like a really bad student film with the Cloverfield twenty-somethings in a crappy zombie movie starring community theater actors.
The fast motion editing was beyond stupid.
Every cliche and convention that has been done to death (ho ho) was all on display here like it is cutting edge cinema.
Oh, and that one guy who played the girl's friend/roommate. Did you notice that when he turned into a zombie, he had to throw his head to the side so his neck would make that loud CRACK. He did that 6 times in the show. I counted. I guess that's how you know someone is a zombie. They do that. Alot.
What a waste of an hour of my life.
Never again, NBC.

I thought pretty much the same, aj. In fact, if you boil down my review, it's just about exactly what you're saying there. Laughing

I thought it was a good episode, and I was pretty surprised at the ending.

Well all that does is prove my theory that no matter how shitty, somebody out there is bound to like it.
