The great scenes in bad movies thread gave me this idea, so credit where credit is due.
I'd have to say The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake probably has one of the best trailers I've ever seen, yet the movie just sucks so fucking bad.
If you don't remember the trailer, here it is

Almost actually makes me want to see the movie again. Almost _________________ Insert that one line from that one movie from that one actor here. |

SNAKES ON A PLANE?
Or does that get a pass, since it was "so bad it's good"? _________________ I'm not in here with you....you're in here with ME. |

Man, I forgot how great Episode 1 looked!
When that trailer hit, I soiled myself. Thought it was gonna be the ultimate Star Wars movie... |

"30 Days of Night" - when the trailer tops the feature film in acting, terror, lighting, sound, and damn near everything but awesome decapitation scenes, there is a problem. That trailer gave me goosebumps.
It is odd, I am normally pretty good at nailing how a movie is going to be from its trailer, but I was WAY off the mark on that one. |

That teaser, that film, single-handedly launched an internet movie site revolution.
I remember just seeing "Lucasfilm" for the first time...man, what an effect it had on me. Crazy to think about it now.
It still has the best lightsaber battle though. Technically speaking. |

I kind of like the White Noise trailer. If I remember correctly, I sort of liked the Die Another Day trailer. I'll have to think a bit harder to remember some others. _________________ One, two......Freddy's coming for you!!! |

Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN comes to mind.
Also, I'm sorry to say, so does CLOVERFIELD. Talk about a letdown. _________________ I'm not in here with you....you're in here with ME. |

I think that in some way Cloverfield was doomed from the start... think about it, the entire point of the "found footage" gimmick is to make you think what you're seeing actually happened - and that's pretty much a fool's errand when the very premise of your movie is something as monumentally unlikely as a skyscraper-sized monster destroying a major city. _________________ Mah Mini Citee
