Saw 3D. Neither the best nor the worst of the series. Fun flick. Hardly an epic conclusion, but it did what it was supposed to and it was worth it just to watch Hoffman (my favorite character) embark upon a full-on, psycho-batshit bloodthirsty rampage. May not be the best Saw film, but for a sixth sequel, it was surprisingly entertaining.

Kill, Baby...Kill. One of Bava's best looking films, in my opinion. Almost too beautiful to achieve any kind of real suspense, which, in a way, is a tribute to the man's genius.

The Road...

does a lot right, but it's really light on plot, and really lacking in any kind of a climax. In a less capable director's hands, this script wouldn't be strong enough to hold the movie.

A Serbian Film

It's alright. I found the whole idea that the person committing these horrible acts isn't in control of himself at all and is actually the most sympathetic character in the movie to be pretty unique.

I kind of worry about people who describe A Serbian Film as "alright". To be indifferent about a movie where they depict a man skull fuck a newborn to death should have more of a reaction then that.

A movie can be shocking as hell and still have issues. It's well-made, well-acted, and has a fairly unique plot, but the pacing is totally off. There's no gradual build up, it just takes a turn and suddenly feels like an entirely different movie. There's also this whole thing about the character being drugged and then having to go back and figure out what happened while he was blacked out, but it doesn't come up until way too late in the movie, so it feels awkward and contrasts everything up until that point way too much.

So yeah, A Serbian Film was alright.

Well I broke down and saw A Serbian Film. It was a cut form of it though so it was missing four minutes from the film. I gotta say, the gore in the movie was nothing compared to what happens at the end that's not gory. Just disturbingly fucked up.

There is one hilarious moment when he dives through the window so that cut the tension a bit.

Well, I finally went and saw The Children. No, not the movie from the 80's. The British one from a few years ago. I heard good things about it from DFF, among other places. It was even better than what I expected. I really dug the film. What Kasch said about it when he reviewed the movie way back when... I agree with nearly 100%.
