I really don't get it. Why does the majority here hate anything new that is derviative of older material, or just plain ass.....then turn around and say this looks "okay"? Is because the two writers post here and you want to be nice for the sake of the community? Or because it's coming on TV, so it being sucky is somewhat excusable for the medium?

It's called human consideration, JT. I say "good luck" to ALL filmmakers with a new project, and I mean it. Whether the movie looks awful, or great, whether it's a drama or a comedy, I hope they're successful in their endeavors.

As for the film's quality. It looks okay. That's not a rave, but it's not a bashing, either, it just looks okay, and I mean that. I'm not being nice.

I have no reason to be nice to UF or MM. I figure they're professional enough to take a "I'll skip it," and move on with their lives.

The key word is "moving on."

I don't feel like I have to explain it to you, but right now I'm too tired to watch a movie or do work, so I figure why not just kill the time with you?

I don't have to suck up to MM or UF. He gives me nothing, he owes me nothing, if one of his movies looks good, I'll say so, if it looks bad, I'll say so.

Period.

If they're immature enough to insult me when I display a distaste for a project they're doing, then that's their problem, but so far I haven't been enthusiastic about much of what they've done and they've yet to throw my ass over the fire for it.

Mainly because I guess they're just pros who understand that different people have different tastes.

Well, my coffee is almost done, I'll get another cup.

Everytime I hit the refresh button, the posts change. It's like...

1. "Ramfsnargglfaaaaaaargh!"

*refresh*

2. "Oh...oh...yea?!?"

*refresh*

3. "Faggy Poppins!"

...and on...and on...and on...

It's kind've cute watching it try to learn how to socialize with people.

Cannell created THE ROCKFORD FILES.

For that alone, he is a god to me.

Is that why you are following in his footsteps?

Cannell created a host of legendary television shows, became insanely rich, trained and inspired a generation of exceptional writers who are some of the top television folks today and is widely considered one of the most important creators EVER in television. He is utterly revered by those in the business.

So...wow, thanks!

After a compliment like that, everything else is just water under the bridge. You rock, JT!

Ironically, there's an episode of The Rockford Files where James Garner gets into a fist fight with Michael Bailey Smith - and wins!

That's internet gold right there.

And Cannell had the best, most memorable jingle.

Not to mention that terrific shot of him at the typewriter, always finishing yet another page.
