I look at Monsterfest like this: It's something I can turn on at work when I'm editing for background noise. I mean, The F'n FOG was on yesterday!

Still, it's things like this that make me wish they could bring back Monstervision on TNT. Also, the ad campaigns, while cool, don't really make the movies very horrific.

Ahhh... Monstervision with Joe Bob Briggs. The good old days.

And greatly missed! I agree!

I'm hoping someone decides to release Monstervision on DVD like they did with Elvira's old series, although that might be less possible, since the movies he did were a little more high-profile.

Am I the only one who remembers that, as a kid, almost every channel had either monster movies or Halloween themed programming all month long instead of a few days or weeks before the 31st?

I agree! I'm 34 and being a kid in NJ had some advantages come October. I remember WPIX 11 had Chiller and they regulary played horror on the weekends anyway but they would be playing a lot more for the season. WWOR 9 was good for Godzilla and then you had channel 5, 29, and 48 out of Philly and Delaware. Even PBS 12 and 13 would play classic Universal monster movies. I miss those days.
