This show is really fucking disappointing.

I was very open to a new series for Flash Gordon, but this is barely the Flash Gordon I envisioned.

He's barely in Mongo, Ming rarely appears, the series is murky, the dialogue is bland, and these galactic adventures are reduced to villains crashing down on Earth to fight Flash.

I really wanted this to be good, but this is just a mediocre facsimile.

I know I was hoping it would get better but seems like another teenager soap and not a good one at that

I'm giving it two more episodes, and dropping it.

I dont have time to wait for it to get better.

"Painkiller Jane," and "The Dresden Files" were also poor series I dropped like a bad habit. I haven't looked back since.

I didn't give Flash a single chance.

I watched fifteen minutes, realized that, yep, it's absolute bottom-of-the-barrel shit and tuned out. I have a feeling most of the audience joined me.

This is awful on every level. There's literally nothing redeeming about the entire show.

However, I did pick up a nice, new, remastered copy of the wonderfully campy 1980 film, and that's always a winner.

That's been a redeeming factor. I get to buy the New edition! Very Happy

But yes, it's pretty bad. I'm sad about that. A new Flash would rock if they did it right.

This is like a new series, with the names of characters from the Flash universe thrown in.

I didn't have any hopes for this at all from the get go.

With the 1980 movie as a blue print, I'm surprised someone didn't pick up the concept and translate it to TV ala-Xena. It just screamed Sam Raimi/Bruce Campbell treatment. It all could've easily been done in blue screen and with the different worlds, the possibilities were endless.

As for the new "Flash" I'm also going to give it two more episodes before I drop it, but the whole "He's in the Mongo countryside because we changed the lighting" is a bit rediculous.

And what's with the "rift?"

If they wanted to make another Stargate, they didn't need to call it Flash Gordon.

This isn't comic book-y enough and is just minid-numbingly boring.

I'll stick with the movie and the Buster Crabbe serials.

You know why this sucks so much? Because Freddie Mercury ain't around to do the soundtrack. End of story.

I haven't watched a single episode. Those Sci-Fi shows take themselves way more seriously than they're entitled to.

I watched five seconds of this....recognized that Flash was played by the same guy who was Whitney on Smallville...then I cried.

You should read what they're saying about this show over on the SciFi.com forums.
