So, what do you think will be different now that the Torture Porn Factory has replaced Anchor Bay?

For now I'm just happy that a third season is happening at all. Sure, the past two seasons were very mixed bags but among all the horrible trash and (hopefully) career-ending fuck-ups there were, each time, one or two real gems and those made the sometimes insufferable rest worthwhile.

I'm just hoping they actually air it on FEARnet. I don't have Showtime anymore.

Season Two was such a wash, I just can't get excited for another one.

I hope they go through with that thing mentioned in the article, letting the directors bring in their own screenplays and story ideas. I never liked how Mick Garris basically commissioned a bunch of scripts from his personal friends and then made the selected directors pick the one they felt sucked the least amount of ass.

Also, pretty fucking please NO MORE JAPANESE DIRECTORS on this show.

I like Val too. I have all the remaining Season 2 DVDs here to review so I am not sure what I am in store for.

I'm glad it's airing on a channel I don't have.

And I'm glad Showtime dropped it.

Masters of Horror was a golden opportunity pissed away.

Good riddance, enjoy guys.

Well Im happy that its coming back, but Im skeptical at how good it will be. I had high hopes for season 2 and with the exception of one or two episodes it sucked donkey balls.

It's funny that Garris is now apparently considering directors who haven't even directed yet...

Of course Nicotero richly deserves the title of Master of Horror, except it's for other achievements than directing.

Supposedly, from what i heard, it will be moving to regular TV,..and that will just be the kiss of death anyway. It'll be dumbed and watered down eventually for the lowest common debomenators.....
I thought season 2 had a few good ones, actually.

It's moving to NBC and is no longer called MASTERS OF HORROR. We've already been talking about it here:

Yeah if the directors had their own stories that would be amazing...but what the hell is with that Japanese comment?! Imprint by Miike was the best episode of both seasons!

I agree. I saw one or two good episodes from the first season and after that the rest were junk. I have no ambition to see anything from the second season or the third. The only saving grace to the first season was Tobe Hooper, and Joe Dante after that everything was a letdown.

Im still slapping my forehead how guys who make one or two horror movies (bad ones at that) can be considered "Masters". Coscarelli has made some good movies but I sure wouldnt call him a Master, and the same goes for John Landis. On the other hand the real "Masters" like Carpenter, and Argento let me down horribly.

While Im at it where the hell was David Cronenberg? That guy has made more real and consistently good horror movies than most of the directors they featured put together, and I wonder if he was even asked.

Oh well thats my whine
