I listened to Gardner's Day of the Wolf last night and it took me a couple of minutes but I realized I had actually read the story years ago in The Ultimate Werewolf. Great little werewolf tale and I like the concept of the author reading his/her own story. When I get a chance I'll check out Ketchum's offering. I hope DC continues with this so keep 'em coming!

Nothing against the concept, but I've never been the slightest bit interested in audio books, or anything of the sort.

My voice provides all the details, character and visual inspiration I'll ever need.

Hey, to each their own, man, we're just trying to provide content no one else has and support horror authors at the same time. I know it's not for everyone, but hopefully we'll get some more interested as we move forward.

I don't look at it as reading compared to an audio book format. It's the fact that the author is telling his story literally that's enjoyable. It's too bad Robert Bloch isn't still with us because I would have loved to have heard him read some of his short stories. Who wouldn't mind hearing Bloch read Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper? The next author's that jump to mind would be Richard Matheson and Ramsey Campbell. With so many talented authors out there, big names and not so well known, it's going to be interesting to see who you guys get down the road to read.

Line up so far has Brian Keene, Chris Golden, Jeff Strand, Gary Braunbeck, our own Scott Johnson, Joe Knetter (eventually), and another Ketchum, with James Moore, Tim Lebbon, Michael Laimo, JF Gonzalez, Steve Niles and Craig Spector all expressing interest in doing one. Just a matter of actually getting 'em recorded.

Exactly. It's a great thing for those of us who don't happen to live in the US and probably will never be able to make it to this or that writer's readings or festival appearances.
