BBC's Great Performances, in the late 1970's showed Louis Jourdan in one of his best performances as the undead count in the most faithful retelling of the bram stoker classic. Stop all the Dracula 2000 crap and see the real deal. It is coming on September 25th on DVD. |

That's great news. I've heard so many great things about this version and have been anxious to check it out. Sep. 25th won't come soon enough... _________________ Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. |

All regions?
Schweet! My bootleg no longer wants to play in my DVD player.
I can say this, that "most faithful version of the Stoker novel" is no BS. Jourdan DOES NOT play the "tortured soul looking for his long lost love" cliche Dracula we've seen in so many "holding pattern" versions.
He plays a manipulative jerk just like the character is supposed to be.
If the Jourdan script could've been used with Coppola's budget, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
"Margaret Mitchell's Dracula" this is not! _________________ Catch, catch the horror taxi

You guys are TRUE Drac fans and understand the point about the book. There was NO LOST LOVE bullshit going on. "Bram Stoker's Dracula" was a chick flick disguised as a horror film. Shame on you Hollywood.
GOD BLESS LOUIS JOURDAN

Glad to know that I'm not the only one that hates the Hollywood version of vampires. I love this one and Jourdan is great!! I'll be picking this dvd up. I also love Jack Palance's performance of Dracula. |
