Not a horror movie. More like (and I use this comparison very loosely) STRAW DOGS than any horror film. I saw it mentioned in the DVD release list, and fwiw John Candy has a supoprting role but hardly a bit part - especially in the final act, - contrary to DC's write up.

Not a great film. Not the bottom of the barrell. You won't miss much if you never botehr with it.

Thanks for the info. I wondered how much of a horror film it actually was. Straw Dogs is good, but something tells me The Clown Murders doesn't quite compare to that film.

The title sounds like that of a circus-themed slasher, either one where the killer is a clown, or the killer targets clowns.

Here's a good review that talks about it better than I could:

It sounds pretty weird, at least for a film that takes itself seriously.

Such is the unique charm of many a Canadian tax shelter film!
