I saw Barry at MSG last night. He took me away...

My mom was a huge Barry Manilow fan. I remember him getting played all the time in the car -- Barry and Air Supply. Isn't Manilow another one of those guys (like Rod Stewart) who switched over to "standards"?

Anyone else remember the episode of Angel where Angel is forced to sing karyoke to "Mandy", with this pained embarrassed look on his face.

He has many Fanilows.

He wrote the Band-Aid jingle among others..

And now it's in my head.

Growing up my mother's favourite song was 'I Can't Smile Without You'.

By God, it's like that song became part of my DNA.

This thread rules! Wish I'd found it on my own, so I have to say thanks to Voodoo for pointing it out to me.

I freaking love Barry Manilow! Laughing A friend of mine even made me some Barry avatars like my current Underworld avatar, but I'll spare you all, lol. We had planned to go see Music & Passion this June, but the filming of our first short has taken precedence. That's a good excuse to have to miss Barry, I suppose. haha

Not sure how lively this thread will be, but I'll be glad to partake in any banter about the Man-ilow. Speaking of, I can't wait for his "Greatest Songs from the Seventies" cd!! I love what he did on the previous two.
