"Dead Sea" is way more claustrophobic than Keene's previous novels. I thought it was a fun read.

Honestly, no I don't think you would. Of the three The Rising is the best written one so if you hated that, you will hate Dead Sea. I almost did.

I just wanted to add that The Rising and COTD are totally different types of zombie novelsthan the Dead Sea.

The Dead Sea is classic Romero-type zombies, where the other 2 are possession-style zombies.

Blood Crazy by Simon Clark is a great original zombie reinvention. It's about the all world's adults going crazy and trying to kill the children.

In that case, One Rainy Night is a great read, as well. Not zombies, but close.

A rain that makes whoever gets wet, a crazed maniac intent on killing anything in sight.

One Rainy Night is by Richard Laymon, by the way.

If it counts, the Zombie Survival Guide was a laugh and a half, and it soon will become non-fiction you know...
Also, "The Naming of Parts" was really good, an intimate and quietly horrifying look into a normal family dealing with an outbreak of creatures never called 'zombies', but we know what the deal is.
Finally, "World War Z" was simply brilliant, definitely one of my favorite books. Kind of saddens me that its being adapted for film. Not the easiest books to be translated to cinema, which will leave room for many blunders
