Superherohype! reported that Jon Favreau, the director who is developing an Iron Man movie, told fans on his official MySpace.com site he's eyeing a May 2008 release for the film.

| Favreau seems to be so dedicated to making this movie for the fans, he knows he can't fuck this up. We will see the old gray suit in the beginning of the film, and even Tony Stark's alcoholism in the sequel if the first movie is a success. |

Marvel Entertainment has an alliance with Paramount, so that means this is Marvel's first film to be produced by them independently. Also the date has been confirmed by the studio at the link below.

I hope this is good. Favreau said he's not focusing on the alcoholism, which really sucks.

| I have been waiting for this film for a long time. It's "on again/off again" status had me wondering if it would ever get made. I hope they do a good job. I also have a bunch of "Iron Man" comics, from "Tales of Suspense" #39 to present. |
