| are their any fans of this band? I'm seeing them friday and it's going to be amazing. think of them as marilyn manson but on crack, but with better vocals and less annoyance of manson. |

I love Dir en grey!!! I disagree with the Manson comparision though. Dir en grey don't really sound like anyone. Don't believe me? Listen to anything of theirs pre-Withering to death. And yes, I've already heard the new record The Marrow of a Bone. That one, I do kinda actually hate. Sounds too American and they were good at not sounding like anyone else too.
Listen to their single "ain't afriad to die" and you'll be surprised that it's the same band. Japan's biggest producer/musician Yoshiki wouldn't of gotten them signed to Sony if they weren't good. If you want to know the best stuff off the new album to see a complete contrast. Check out CONCEIVED SORROW, THE FATAL BELIEVER, ryoujoku no ame, DISABLED COMPLEXES, namamekashiki ansoku tomadoi ni hohoemi, and THE PLEDGE.
Listen to a vast stuff on earlier albums and see if it still bores ya.

dude videowise. i was comparing their video's the manson, and diru's video's are far more disgusting.

well i just saw them, and i got to say that they were just amazing. they sounded even better on stage than most of their cd's. kyo was pretty fucked up. he hit himself hard with a microphone,hit his head with the microphone and then proceeded to cut himself with a razor across his ribcage as he drew blood. kyo and die threw bottle caps,bottles and mouth spray water. when the caps flew the girls swarmed the site and began grabbing. lots of energy.
