I'm not much a gamer but I have been itching for one lately. I have a Mac and the only games I get into are the ones my friends call 'boring'..the whole thing about building armies, developing an economy, trade and diplomacy. Does anyone have any favorites they would recommend?

Go poking around for Master of Orion and it's sequels.

I did. It's about 8 years old isn't it? It does look fun however.

Any opinions on Star Wars Empire at War? It doesn't look like it's available on mac though.

All the Master of Orion games were pretty fun, and not overly complicated.

Empire at War is mostly just "meh" to me, but you might dig it.

If you want a fun SW game, try Galactic Battlegrounds.
