The funny thing is a lot of younger people may not get this since stations don't go off the air anymore.

late night tv was great back then, used to play alot of old stuff, that's how I found out about Hitchcock and Twilight Zone, etc...

I saw this in the theatre when I was a kid. I think I was 9. I was into horror and thought a PG rated horror film couldn't scare me. I was wrong. Shocked

The film was originally given a R rating, but the filmmakers protested successfully and got a PG rating (the PG-13 rating did not exist at the time).

I think Dreamscape was the first PG-13 film. This film, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Gremlins led to the creation of the PG-13. Of all people Spielberg drove the MPAA to create a new rating. Laughing

Yeah, seeing this in the theater on the original release is one of my fondest movie going experiences. Next to Aliens.
