Dont know if there's a thread yet but:

Was anyone else a fan of the Friday the 13th video game for NES?

My brother and I would spend hours playing it, and we loved to look through the cabins and would get lost in the woods.

Jason was a hard motherfucker to beat.

Like most licensed games of the past (what the hell am I saying, ANY GENERATION), I think they missed the whole feel of Friday the 13th and made it more kiddie than it needed to be. Plus, from what I remember, the control scheme was terrible. That said, it was still a fun little game.

And it gave us this.

I threw it out the 7th floor window of my dorm room in 1997 one night when I was drunk. The game sucked.

I still have an original cartridge for this, the game that cannot be beat.
Not as notoriously tough as Atari's Infamous E.T., but man, every time I load this up, even on the pc, I just quit at some point. I feel like Sting, shouting in DUNE "I WILL Kill You!:.

You never beat E.T. on Atari 2600?
Jesus, I beat that game when I was 7 years old. Just find the 4 pieces of the phone, make the call, get to the forest, and make sure you are the only one there before time runs out and the spaceship comes down.

Maybe mine glitched, but every time I went to the forest with the phone pieces nothing happened Sad. I suppose I could just load it into an emulator and try again. Would be nice to have some completion after all these years,

When you get the whole phone, you have to raise your neck to 'make the call'. This will start a clock in the upper corner of your screen that will tick down.
You have to get to the forest before it ends so the spaceship can pick you up. If the FBI agent enters the forest screen, the ship won't come.
If you are alone and the clock runs out, the spaceship comes down, picks you up, and flies off.
Then, inexplicably, the next screen shows you in Elliot's house while Elliot endlessly walks around the house. The E.T. theme music plays triumphantly.
End of game. End of LAME game!
